Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The data controller is Venancio Romero («Ranchy»). For privacy inquiries or to exercise your rights, contact hola@ranchy.app.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use Ranchy, we may process the following categories of data:

• Account: name, email, and role (owner or worker), obtained via Google Sign-In. We do not store your Google password.
• Ranch data: name, address, description, pastures, and alert settings.
• Livestock data: tag number, breed, sex, status, dates, cow-calf relationships, events (weight, milk, vaccines, births, sales, etc.), and photos.
• Team data: worker names, salaries, and payment or advance records.
• Photos: images of livestock or the ranch uploaded from your device camera or library.
• Device: device identifier and name for multi-device sync.
• Push notifications: device token and alert preferences (with your permission on iOS or Android).
• Plan: redeemed promotional codes and usage limits (animals/ranches).
• Local preferences: language, theme, and currency (stored on the device).

3. How we use data

We use data solely to provide livestock management services:

• Create and manage your account and invited workers.
• Display and organize inventory, events, alerts, and ranch finances.
• Sync information between your devices and our server when online.
• Send push notifications about important alerts (births, inventory, etc.).
• Apply free, promotional, or premium plan limits.
• Keep the service secure and respond to support requests.

4. Local storage and sync

Ranchy works offline: data is stored first on your device (SQLite). When internet is available, changes are sent to our server at sync.ranchy.app so other authorized devices on the same ranch can access them.

Appearance, language, and currency preferences are stored only on the device and are not synced.

5. Legal basis

We process data necessary to perform the service agreement (managing your ranch), based on your consent when signing in with Google, uploading photos, or enabling push notifications, and for legitimate interests in maintaining security and service stability.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your data. We only share information in these cases:

• With other users on your ranch who have authorized access (according to their role).
• With Google, for Google Sign-In authentication (subject to Google's privacy policy).
• With Apple and Google Firebase, to deliver push notifications on iOS and Android, via Expo.
• With infrastructure providers that host the server and store photos in the European Union, under contract and only to operate Ranchy.
• When required by law.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures: encrypted communication (HTTPS), expiring access tokens, and secure on-device storage. No system is 100% secure; please protect your device and Google account.

8. Retention

We retain data while you maintain an active account and use the service. If you delete records in the app, they are marked as deleted and hidden; copies on other synced devices update on the next sync.

Push tokens are removed when you sign out or when you request removal.

9. Account deletion

You can delete your account in the app under Settings → User account → Delete my account. For owners, farms and server data are permanently removed. You can also email hola@ranchy.app.

10. Your rights

Under applicable law (including GDPR), you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability (JSON export from the app). To exercise these rights, email hola@ranchy.app with your account email. We respond within 30 days.

EU residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

11. Children

Ranchy is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.

12. Website

The ranchy.app website does not use third-party tracking or analytics cookies. We store your language preference in the browser (localStorage) to remember your choice.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version will be published at ranchy.app/privacidad with the revision date. If changes are significant, we will notify you via the app or email.
